Continental Drift

Today in science class Mrs wells
showed us what continental drifting is and how it happened which
was pretty cool to learn. When Mrs wells put the food colouring in the
food colouring started to rise slowly up and some of it went down.
The reason why it did that is because the water was hot
which made it bubble up at the bottom and rise to the top
which made the colour spread around also let the green
into it so it can rise to the top. Also their is no space left because
the water covers it all so their is no space. When it cools down it goes
to the bottom then rise to the top again.
The cups of water represents the heat from the bottom that makes the
food colouring rise.
What I learnt about it is that the outer core heats up to the mantel
which makes it heavy then it travels for miles and get’s
cool down which makes it lighter then sinks back down.

Hi Michael, thank you for your blog post. You included some good observations of how the red and green food colouring rose to the top of the bucket, when it was over the heat source (the cups of hot water underneath). The bucket of water was representing the mantle in the Earth. The colours were so you could see the water moving because of the heat! Could you please add line breaks or press 'enter' when you are writing sometimes, because your blog post is in one very long line out to the right of the screen! Thank you for your effort and blog posts in class :) ~Miss Wells.

Thanks for making the formatting changes, now I can read the whole paragraph! See if you can add some more to your blog post about how the water particles change when heat is added to them; this video will help! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxGIiOTuAIs&t=2s
