Social Studies Exam Blog Post

Recently I've had exam.Before the exam I felt confident and happy because I knew what to do.During the exam I felt confident. I displayed the school rise values through the rise value of respect by being quite.After the exam I felt happy because exam's was over.My time in social studies has been fun because of the topic's.The highlight of SOS has been watching movies.The most interesting thing I learned in SOS was climate change.

Chocolate cake

Step 1 - 2 C of SRF

step 2 - 1 C of sugar

Step 3 - 1/2 C Of oil 

Step 4 - 1 C of milk 

Step 5 - 1 egg

Step 6 - 1/4 C of cocoa 

Step 7 - Combine all and mix,scoop into baking tin.

Step 8 - Bake 180 °c for 15 mins.

Mince pie

Today for cooking we made mince pie here are the ingredients. 

Mince pie

Step 1 - Dice the onion and fry until it's soft 

Step 2 - add the mince and fry until its cooked

Step 3 - add mix veges and 1/2c of water its already mix with pepper,Veges stock and spices.

Step 1 - 2 c of SRF

step 3 - 1/2 c of oil

step 4 - 1 c of milk

step 5 - 1 egg

step 6 - 1/4 c of cocoa 

step 7 - combine all and mix well, scoop into the muffin tray 

step 8 - bake 180 degrees c for 15 mins

Step 1 - put the oil in the frying pan and heat up the stove.

Step 2 - Dice the onion and put it in the frying pan.

Step 3 - Put the mince in the frying pan and mash it around.

Step 4 - Dice the ham and put it in the frying pan.

Step 5 - Put the bake beans in and stir it around until the cheese is melted.

Step 6 - eat it with nachos.  

Blueberry muffin

Today for food tech we mad Blueberry muffin's

here are the ingredients.

Step 1 - 1 1/2 C Of  SR Flour 

Step 2 - 1/2 C Of Sugar

Step 3 - 1/2 C Of Oil

Step 4 - 1 C Of Milk, Egg

Step 5 - 1/2 C Of Blueberry 

Step 6 - Mix well and scoop into muffin tin

Step 7 - bake 180c for 15 mins

Step 8 - Cool down and top up with whip cream.

Hangi experince

On Wednesday for science our whole class got to experience how to make a hangi . What we did first is wash the food before we put it in the foil well they were putting it in the foil we went over to the pit and started the fire so when the food come when can put it in.Not long after that the food come and we put it on top of the fire so it can cook.After that we went to our next class then we got called to go back and help with the hangi, we had to put it at the back of the truck.When the bell rang we had to go collect the hangi from the tuck shop.Mr dunn told us to pick one of the plates of food.But lastly we got the eat the food.The type of energy I saw was heat energy because we used heat energy to cook the hangi under the ground it went from the paper to the timber then it started a fire so we can cook the hangi..Another type of energy I saw was kinetic because we were moving around and putting all the food in the foil then we went to cook the hangi. cooking The hangi was fun.

French toast

French toast

Step 1- Whisk 4 eggs with 1/2 c of milk

Step 2- Slice the bread into 2 pieces.Each group must 

have 8 pieces of bread

Step 3- Dip bread into milk and eggs, Line it on the

white chopping board.

Step 4- Start frying the bread,Until it is golden brown 

and turn it over put it on the plate, and serve with golden syrup.

In cooking we cooked hot cakes the person I cooked my hot cakes with was phaezon. The thing I liked is eating the hot cakes at the end but the best thing was making the hot cakes.

r hot cake:

Step 1- 1 cup of S.R Flour

Step 2- 1/2 cup of Sugar

step 3- 1 egg, 1/2 cup of milk

step 4- Mix well and fry 2 cakes at the same time with the serving spoon.

My first exam experience

My first exam experience 

 This week we had exams.The exams we did was social studies,science,maths and English. When I found out I decide to do some studying so I don’t fail because I want to get good grades.Before the exams I felt confident and nervous but I overcame it by doing my work and just thinking about passing my exams.When the exams started I felt confident by studying and being prepared with all the thing that I needed for exams but if I didn’t feel confident answering the question I would skip it then go back to it at the end.After exams were done I felt happy because I didn’t have to study anymore also I had rugby training after that I went home and told my parents about my day and exams.In my next exam I would try do better and make changes.By Michael.Motuliki

Mrs c gren

WALT:Explain what Mrs c gren

Mrs c gren is Movement,Reproduction,Sensitivity,Control,Growth,Respiration,Excretion and Nutrition.

I've learnt that Mrs c gren relates to everything that's alive.For example humans,animals and etc.

For example humans move  by waking or running they also copy some things that other people do they also feel offender when people some some things to them.Also the control them self like their felling and other things and all living things grow bigger like tree's they start of small but then get bigger.Respiration is when things transfer food into energy. Excretion is getting rid of waste products.Nutrition is the things that help they stay health and grow.

My Tradition.

The country I choose to look at is Tonga.
I choose Tonga because it is my culture and I also know a lot about Tonga.
A tradition of tonga is kailao.
An example of this tradition is that it is performed with lots of energy and also they perform it on special occasion.

My rocket

WALT:Describe the energy changes of our class rocket launch

So today for science we went out to the field and decide to shoot our rockets up into the sky which was amazing because we got to see our it get lunch into the sky.The sound I heard was like a bomb explosion  which sound loud which was made from the fire works and also it smelt like fire works went we shoot it up in the sky.The type of energy we used was chemical,gravitational and movement.The part I like about that is when I got to go up and shoot my rocket which when pretty far up in to the sky and come down in my opinion my one was the best because I like the design and the way it went up into the sky. 

This was on of the videos of my friends rocket.

Now I will explain the types of energy in a rocket launch. 

The types of energy's were movement,gravitational,motions,heat and light,chemical

,electrical energy sound energy. 

My story about Auckland volcano eruption

Today in science we watched a video about a fake volcano erupting in Auckland.

One day I was at the beach when I felt a shake coursed by the magma flow pushing up into the crust but first you could see steam coming from the water also I saw ash come flying up to the sky I was like it could of been smoke until it got bigger which made me scared and worried then the ash and steam started to spread around the sky and you could see bomb's and blocks flying out as well.After the volcanic eruption the lava started to flow and also when the volcano erupted  it pushed Auckland off the hotspot and created another new island was made and the form of it was like a volcano if the top going up like a triangle and the bottom is kind of flat..In the video it sound like guns and bomb's have been going of like it was a war which would be scary if you were there and you could see the ash and rocks falling into the water to create a noise.

Made in Taiwan

The main purpose of Oscar and Nathan trip was to
find out about the takitimu and learn more about their
ancestors. Oscar and Nathan first started in new Zealand by
testing their DNA to retrace back where their ancestors

were. Oscar and Nathan are now in Rarotonga studying about a

canoe called Takitimu which is what our ancestors traveled on
across the sea Also they learned that where the Takitimu left off
also this guy showed them were the spirits are before they all go
underground.Oscar and Nathan are now in samoa learning about
the history of Ttakitimu From some of the elders  in Samoa also
this guy showed them a rock with a name on it which was part
of the history where the ancestors put their canoes .Oscar and
Nathan are now in Vanuatu learning more about the Takitimu.
They learnt that the canoe landed there about 3000 year ago and left
off.Oscar and Nathan are now in Taiwan learning about what happen
about the Takitimu. What I saw is that most of the people looked like
Polynesian also I learnt that most of the things they do is similar to
us and also there is a museum that has a lot of history about the canoes

.

Earthquakes

 Today I watch A video about earthquakes in New Zealand.

The thing that I learnt about earthquakes that it can cause other natural distastes (e.g Like tsunami and etc).Also it was in kaikorua and the article that I read said it was New Zealand's largest faultline is more active than scientists previously thought and could generate "megathrust" earthquakes up to magnitude 9.0, and giant tsunamis.Also scientists said that it wasn't "the big one" and most scientists fear the 9.0 magnitude shake.

WALT:Describe recent earthquakes

Today I found out that one of our pacific islands got hit by a  7.5 magnitude earth quake.Also it hit the ring of fire the ring of fire is where the two plates always clash into each other to create natural distastes.The effects of this is that lots of building are busted done and some people are hurt.To describe how it happened we used bread and nutella and jam so we spread nutella on to a thin layer of the bread and cut it in half after that we put some jam between the pieces of bread and squish them together.The jam was for the mantel to see how it happens and the nutella was for the crust and I learnt that some of the tectonic plates slide under to make earthquakes and also slide against each other which create natural distastes.

Continental Drift

Today in science class Mrs wells

showed us what continental drifting is and how it happened which
was pretty cool to learn.When Mrs wells put the food colouring in the

food colouring started to rise slowly up and some of it went down.

The reason why it did that is because the water was hot

which made it bubble up at the bottom and rise to the top

which made the colour spread around also let the green

into it so it can rise to the top.Also their is no space left because

the water covers it all so their is no space.When it cools down it goes

to the bottom then rise to the top again.

The cups of water represents the heat from the bottom that makes the

food colouring rise.

What I learnt about it is that the outer core heats up to the mantel

which makes it heavy then it travels for miles and get’s

cool down which makes it lighter then sinks back down.

Earth Layers

WALT:Describe the layer's of the earth

In our science class we are learning about the layers of earth which is Inner core , Outer core , mantel and crust.

The outer core of the earth liquids layer about 2,260 km compose with nickle and iron which lies above the earth solid inner core and below it's mantel.

The Crust is the outside of the earth in geology , a crust is the outermost layer of a plant the crust if the if the earth is like the crust of bread and pizza also it is composed of a great variety of igneous , metamorphic , and sedimentary rocks.Also the crust is under our feet.

The inner core is the earth's innermost part.it is primarily  a solid ball a radius of about 1,220 km (760 miles) , which is 70% of the moons radius.The inner core is in the centre of the earth which is like lava down their.

The mantle is just below the crust.The interior of earth , similar to the other terrestrial planet's , is divide into the layer of different composition.The mantel is a layer between the crust and outer core.

The yellow is inner core , the orange is the outer core , the green is the mantel , and the brown is the crust.
